The mission and goal of the Weight Loss Surgery Institute of the Central Coast (WLSICC) is to provide the safest and most advanced surgical and medical treatment available for obesity. For more than 5 years our single professional objective has been to build a comprehensive and advanced program that emphasizes patient education, family involvement and multidisciplinary approach to serve our community at the newest and best prepared hospital facility on the Central Coast. As of May 2017, we have accomplished more than 1200 weight loss operations with excellent outcomes, and have been repeatedly accredited as a Comprehensive Center for Bariatric Surgery by the ASMBS and Center of Distinction by Blue Shield. Over 97% of surgeries are accomplished laparoscopically using the most advanced minimally invasive techniques. As founder and director of WLSICC, we emphasize our patient and community centered approach, with close collaboration with primary care doctors and community physicians from the entire Central Coast. All providers are consistently educating physicians and staff at all area hospitals regarding care of bariatric patients. The center offers a full complement of bariatric care including a Certified Bariatric Nurse and Nurse Practitioner, Dietitian, Mental Health professional and fitness practitioners. I belong to the fellowship of the American College of Surgeons and the American Bariatric Society.
