• The Fed rate cut on 3/15, by 1.00 percent (to a range of 0-0.25 percent) is for funds banks pay to each other. It does not directly influence mortgage rates. Remember: the mortgage rates depend largely on the 10-year Treasury yield which often moves the same way for similar reasons.
