Our career programs at D'Avolio Institute for Culinary Education (DICE) are designed to teach both students with life challenges and disabilities and adult learners for a career in the field of culinary arts in a little as six months. Program's are designed with a "hands on approach" and everything is included in tuition fees: such as textbooks, knifekits, uniforms, all food costs, Servsafe certifcation, and job placement services. Offering three different curriculum's such as Culinary Principles Plus Internship, a 6 month program, Fundamentals of Basic Food Service, a 4 month program, and a 10 weel Baking Program. After graduation, the majority of our students are prepared for entry level food service positions: prep cook, pantry person, garde manger, baker, pastry assistant, and short order or hot line cook positions. On occasion, a student with previous food service experience may be able to fill a more challenging kitchen roll. 80% of our class time is spent in the kitchen working on practical skills with a learning by doing philosophy, all math and reading skills are geared directly towards success in the kitchen environment. Students with documented disabilities may qualify for funding through ACCES-VR(formally known as VESID) Students may also qualify for a private loan. Plenty of free parking is available and security is throughout our campus. Possible Dorming is available for students enrolled in the 6 month program.
