John Lennon once said “life is what happens to you when you’re busy making other plans.” True statement. As we’re making repairs due to storm damage, we won’t be ready to open on July 10th. But we WILL be ready to serve you delicious things the following week. We think 7.21 has a nice ring to it! Meat us at the butchery on Tuesday, July 21!

Dear Restaurant & Butchery at 2710 Erie Ave. will open its doors as part of a phased opening to the public on July 10. The restaurant is the first project of the Art of Care Hospitality Group led by Austin Heidt, Ashley Robertson, Brian Young, Corinne Oberholzer and Brent Oberholzer.
For close to a year we’ve been hard at work turning our dream of opening a restaurant into a reality. That reality changed in March as it did for nearly every living person on the planet. Like so many, our first thought was, “what can we do to help?” As a small gesture, we decided to use social media to promote our city’s incredible independent restaurants and small businesses. As a company dedicated to the idea of care, we want to do more. Inspired by the efforts of our former colleagues @Frasca in Boulder, CO, we’re teaming up with Christ Hospital to launch Feed the Frontlines Cincinnati, a program that supports the hospitality industry and healthcare workers by raising money from the community to purchase meals from restaurants and deliver them to the hardworking people keeping us safe. We are so lucky to live in a community that has already opened their arms and wallets to both restaurants and healthcare workers, and we thought since our restaurant isn’t yet open, we could devote our time to this worthy cause and support the community we can’t wait to join.

Meet our Executive Chef Brian Young! Young comes to us from New England by way of Nashville. Classically trained but always evolving, he apprenticed with one of the oldest butcheries in Boston and cooked at the award-winning Harvest, Citizen Public House & Oyster Bar, and Townsman, where he was co-chef with his mentor, Chef Matthew Jennings. Young was named to Zagat Boston’s “30 under 30” list, competed on “Beat Bobby Flay” season 1, has cooked at The James Beard House, and was a contestant on Bravo Top Chef season 16. We are honored to have Brian Young on our Dear Team!
