We do need to know your medical history. We do not want to annoy anyone over being asked about their medical history. We need to know about medications and recent surgery (large, small, replacement, etc.). Anything that happens in your mouth can have an impact on the rest of your body as well as medications causing side effects within your mouth. Asking about your medical history isn’t because we are curious. We are looking out for your own health and safety.

I have always hated going to the dentist. But once we started seeing Dr DeMercy and Dr Kossick, that has changed. Their front desk people are super friendly and helpful, the hygienists are gentle yet thorough and the dentists are easy-going, fair and so professional. Even my kids love going. I cannot say enough about this entire practice. There is not one thing I could recommend they change. About as perfect of a practice out there!

It’s really tempting to graze all day during the holiday season, but this puts our teeth more at risk of decay. Instead of leaving food out until all hours, set up specific times of the day to set the table for people to eat. These can be sit-down meals or buffet style, but it’s important that there is a definite beginning and ending to these times. This will help keep everyone from constantly reaching for food that’s high in sugar and fat.

Frustrating Start - by Linda H.
I called from my car at 10:47 for my 11:00 am appt to let the office know I was there. I was told to come into the atrium and I would be let in right away. At 11:15 I got a call from the office asking if I was going to show up. I had been standing in the atrium for 25 minutes! I have been a patient of this office since 1989 and they are very sweet, so I assume this was an isolated incident, but it was annoying just the same.
I had a substitute hygienist who struggled with the equipment. No water at one point, and slow brushing of the cleaning agent. Don't know if that was due to the equipment or what the issue was. But we got the job done. I had a nice chat with Dr Kossack and made my next appt. I will be back.
