Dennis Streeter, DO, FAAOS is a triple-board-certified surgeon who specializes in general surgery and anti-aging medicine. His family-oriented surgical practice in Merrillville, Indiana, has served the residents of the greater northwestern Indiana region for more than 40 years.
Dr. Streeter received his medical degree from the Chicago School of Osteopathic Medicine in 1971. He completed his internship and residency training at Chicago Osteopathic Hospital before undertaking a fellowship in urological surgery at the University of Chicago Hospital and Clinics. Subsequent fellowships in vascular, thoracic, and cardiovascular surgery followed.
Dr. Streeter has a wide breadth of medical experience; he’s been a trauma surgeon, head of surgery boards at local hospitals, and the president of national osteopathic medicine boards. Presently, he’s a liaison to the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer.
As an osteopathic surgeon, Dr. Streeter has always believed in taking a natural approach to health care. In recent years, he furthered his education in natural medicine and became a certified provider of BioTE® bioidentical hormone replacement pellet therapy. In 2008, he was certified as a Fellow through the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine.
Patients know Dr. Streeter for his upbeat demeanor and caring bedside manner, and his personable, close-knit team take pride in delivering comfort beyond expectations. He’s affiliated with St. Mary Medical Center of Hobart, Methodist Hospital in Merrillville, and Broadwest Specialty Surgery Center in Merrillville.
As someone who has always had a heart for serving others, Dr. Streeter has been active as a local college physician since 1972. He has eight children and 20 grandchildren and enjoys spending time with family and friends at his home on the shores of Lake Michigan.
