Dental offices have been given the approval to reopen provided they meet certain requirements. Dr. Julie Watts McKee, the chief dental officer for the Commonwealth of Kentucky, explains what changes a patient might see when they show up for their next dental appointment. #TeamKentucky #TogetherKY
Our community has been through a lot over the last couple of months. While many things have changed, one thing remains the same: our commitment to your safety!
In addition to infection control protocols already in place, you may see some changes when it is time for your next appointment. We made these changes to help protect our patients and staff.
•You will be asked screening questions when your appointment is made and again when you arrive at our office.
•Temperatures will be taken upon arrival.
•All patients entering the office are required to wear masks or face coverings. PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN.
•Patients will wait in their cars and contact the office when you arrive.
•Only the patient and one parent or legal guardian may enter the office.
•We will have hand sanitizer that we will ask you to use when you enter.
•Appointments will be managed to allow for social distancing between patients.
•Please be patient as we adjust to these additional precautions to keep us all safe.
We will be happy to answer any questions you may have about the steps we are taking to keep you safe in our office. We value your trust and loyalty and look forward to welcoming back our patients, neighbors, and friends.
Perhaps you have seen that dental offices can re-open on Monday, April 27, 2020. However, the safety of our patients and staff is very important; therefore, we are not fully prepared to open at this time. We will take this week to implement new guidelines mandated by the Kentucky Board of Dentistry to insure the health and safety of our patients amid the COVID-19 pandemic. We will continue to take emergency calls this week and look forward to seeing patients on Monday, May 4, 2020.

Fruits and vegetables are not only good for your heart, but crunchy fruits and vegetables are good for your mouth as well!
You may have been taught to open wide while brushing your teeth as a kid, but as an adult, try closing your lips to brush. You'll notice a few things right away: you’ll have an easier time brushing the back of your teeth; you’ll gag less; and your mirror will be a heck-of-a-lot cleaner because you won’t be splashing toothpaste all over it as you brush.
We love hearing from our patients!
Happy Dentists Day, Dr. Coleman! We appreciate all that you do for your team and patients!
We are feeling extra lucky today to have patients like you!
Managing your stress levels is crucial to your overall health, but especially to the health of your teeth. All that pressure and grinding wears down not only the surface, but the bone and connective tissue too. This leads to the loss of teeth, and some pretty unsightly cosmetic concerns when the grinding occurs in the front of the mouth.
We're venturing down 3rd Street for this week's #MainStMonday! Jackson's Restaurant is a great place to get some home cookin'!
