Dr. Hansen is an orthopedic surgeon with specialized training in orthopedic oncology and metabolic bone diseases. He specializes in the treatment of bone and soft tissue tumors, and metabolic bone disease such as osteoporosis as well as more unusual conditions. He also cares for patients with fractures and in need of joint reconstruction.
Dr. Hansen grew up in Madison, CT and was an avid lacrosse and football player. He attended Saint Lawrence University where he continued playing lacrosse, and graduated magna cum laude, and Phi Beta Kappa. He attended the University of Connecticut School of Medicine and went on to do his residency in orthopedics at Stony Brook University. After graduation Dr. Hansen went on to do two fellowships, one in orthopedic oncology at Memorial Sloan Kettering, and the second in metabolic bone disease at Hospital for Special Surgery.
