"During my over 15 years of career as an independent medical oncologist, educator and a clinical trialist, I helped in establishing the first nationally accredited breast cancer program in the state of Kentucky at the University of Louisville; served as co-director of the multidisciplinary breast cancer program at the university cancer center, nurtured strong partnerships for cooperative group and industry clinical trials, led efforts for establishing central IRB and good clinical practices for clinical trials, and served on data safety monitoring board and the breast cancer member chair for the clinical and scientific review committee at the University of Louisville. Having served either as a principal investigator or a sub-investigator of more than 25 disease/site-specific and agnostic clinical trials both in academic and community practice settings, I strongly believe in increasing clinical trial accrual for advancing patient care and outcomes. As an academic medical oncologist, I have strong commitment for advancing the mandates of compassionate cancer care, patient-centric clinical trials and medical education."Â
