A little throwback Thursday to 2004. We have more trucks and employees, and less hair now, but still doing what we know and love every day.
Steph had these pictures posted on her personal FB page tonight, asking where her baby has gone, and I had to share them here. The picture on the folder is Dan and Steph’s oldest, Zach, when he was maybe 2 years old (if that). The second was taken this week as Zach took off with Uncle Barry to Colorado on his first official road trip as a Dial-A-Move employee. I don’t know what the future holds for this intelligent, funny, talented kid, and Dial-A-Move might only serve as a summer job and stepping stone in what’s to come, but it’s still a pretty awesome, surreal moment to see another generation of family serving our clients.
It seems the FAKE NEWS has struck Dial-A-Move! We heard a rumor about ourselves, and just want to provide anyone who may have heard this rumor with the truth. We DO NOT have any employees with COVID-19, and have NOT shut down our business because of this. Like everyone, we are navigating this on a day-by-day basis, and continue to make decisions based on what we feel is best for our employees and customers. Any employees who have come in direct contact with someone who was being tested were immediately told to self-quarantine until negative test results came back, or they tested negatively themselves. All individuals this has affected have either tested negative, or the individual they were in contact with has tested negative. For a period of time, we had stopped booking moves for April and May in an effort to reduce the amount of exposure for our employees. We have since re-evaluated this, and put in place strict operating guidelines we are following, and asking our clients to follow, to minimize risk while keeping our operations going, as we are categorized as an essential business. Job changes and house closings continue to happen, and therefore, the need for people to move continues to happen. We are still here and open for business, ready to take your calls and assist in the best way possible during this crazy time, and are happy to provide a copy of our COVID-19 operating guidelines to anyone who would like reassurance that their move is being handled in the safest way possible. We are all in this together, and we will get through this together!
Dial-A-Move and the Dairy Queen Grill & Chill teamed up today to deliver some treats to all the amazing men and women working tirelessly to keep us safe and healthy. Over 850 Dilly Bars were delivered to Sanford Aberdeen Medical Center, Avera St. Luke's Hospital, Aberdeen Ambulance, and Aberdeen Fire and Rescue. Thank you to all of our health care workers and first responders for all you are doing and the sacrifices you are making, and we hope our small token of gratitude can bring a few smiles during this stressful time. Everyone please continue to do your part to help make their jobs a little easier and flatten the curve. This community somehow always comes together for each other. Now we need to come together by staying apart. Keep positive!
Apparently there was some confusion regarding my earlier post. Just to clarify, we are still OPEN for business. Phones are still being answered and Dan is still available to provide bids for your upcoming moves, with a variety of options available based on your comfort level (by phone, by a camera phone app program we offer, or by in-home visit). Desiree and myself (Paige) are simply taking care of our part of the business from our homes right now to help minimize traffic within the offices. As I stated before, we can and are doing everything possible to take care of our clients and employees during this time. The only difference now is with schools being closed you may hear a little background noise from our temporary helpers when you call.😉😬
In an effort to do our part with social distancing, our office personnel will be working from home for the time being. We also have electronic and phone options available if you are in need of a bid, but do not want someone coming out into your home at this time. Please call 605-725-3789 or 605-886-6925 for more information. We want to remain here for our clients while ensuring we do everything we can to minimize the risk to our employees and customers. The more we all help to flatten the curve, the sooner we can get back to business as usual. 🙏❤️
Great family owned business to work for!
