🖤💚Team Member Tuesday💚🖤 This is the man behind it all here at Diamondback. You'll usually find him behind the scenes, making sure his employees and customers are well cared for. Scott Unger painted his first house here in Abilene in late 2007. He operated a small painting business until he rebranded to Diamondback in 2016. He takes great pride in the quality of his work and customer service. Scott knew what he needed to do to set his painting company apart was to hire his painters as employees and to train them well, instead of relying on subcontracted labor. When asked about their boss, members of his crew had nothing but praise. "Scott is fair beyond measure. His work ethic exceeds all and he acts like an adult. I like him, he's a good guy." "Scott is the kind of boss that everyone wants to work for. He is funny and genuinely cares about his employees. He works just as hard or harder than every employee we have." We are absolutely thrilled to be partnering with nonprofit World's Okayest Mom Inc. for our upcoming Diamondback Gives Back! Over the summer, we approached WOM and asked for nominations of local moms who would be extra blessed by a freshly-painted home. Today, women from Diamondback and WOM had the pleasure of meeting Ms. Williams. She is the mama to three grown children, whom she raised right here, in this house. She has been here 55 years. On October 17, friends from both WOM and Diamondback will spend the day giving her home a fresh, new look. We love being a part of the Abilene community! We are so pleased to be working with this awesome organization to give back to someone who really deserves it.

We are going to paint a house FOR FREE soon! Diamondback Gives Back is a community outreach program we started in 2018. Our employees volunteer their time to help us paint a home or business in need in just one day. This was created to be a semi-annual event, however, circumstances prevented us from being able to have our spring 2020 event. We are so excited about our upcoming event on October 17! The Graves are plenty handy and typically do their own painting around their home- but when it came to the chore of painting their ceilings, they called us to tackle them. The ceilings throughout the entire home were a tan color, making the home feel much smaller than it actually it. 💚Throwback Thursday🖤 Did you know that we started painting homes in Abilene in late 2007? Our owner founded Unger Painting after painting a couple of homes "on the side" for some friends. Their referrals to other friends allowed Unger Painting to bloom into an established company. Under that name, we painted many homes and several businesses in the Abilene area. This dated brick definitely looks more modern with a heavy application of limewash and new paint on the trim. Like so many in the Abilene community, we were deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Mark Rogers. We had the pleasure of painting his family's home, and then even better, we got to work alongside him, his wife, and their nonprofit World's Okayest Mom Inc. this past October for our Diamondback Gives Back event. Mark was a spark of life. He was extremely involved in the community, giving of his time, his energy, and leaving everyone he met a little better off than he found them. Mark gave a little piece of himself to each person he encountered. His loss will be felt by many for a long time to come. To honor his memory, we will be donating to two causes he held dear to his heart- World's Okayest Mom and Big Brothers Big Sisters of West Central Texas, where he served as Market President. We encourage anyone who was touched by the life of Mark Rogers to do the same.
