Bishop Robert Barron September 5 at 3:58 PM · Friends, it was my privilege today to offer the Sacrament of Baptism to Hazel Rose Cummins, the child of my Associate Producer, Douglas and his wife Erica. The Sacrament of Baptism claims the recipient as a child of God, infuses the soul with the virtues of faith, hope and love and serves as the gateway to the Sacraments of the Church. Through the Sacraments we participate in the divine life of Christ and receive the gifts he wants his faithful to enjoy.
Who is Jesus ? Read Prologue to Gospel according to John. Bishop Robert Barron August 23 at 6:00 AM · Friends, in today’s Gospel, Jesus asks his disciples, “Who do people say that the Son of Man is?” In response, the disciples said, “Some say John the Baptist, others Elijah, still others Jeremiah or one of the prophets.” But what all of those readings—reflective of the popular consensus—had in common was that they were wrong. Having heard the results of this popular opinion survey, Jesus turned to his inner circle, the Twelve, and asks, “But who do you say that I am?” Peter alone speaks: “You are the Christ [the Messiah], the Son of the living God.” He would have said Mashiach, “the anointed,” the one who would gather the tribes and cleanse the temple and defeat Israel’s enemies, but then he added that startling phrase, “Son of the living God.” Even at this relatively early stage in Jesus’ ministry, Peter intuited that Jesus was much more than a prophet or rabbi or seer, however significant. He knew that there was something qualitatively different about his master. http://www.usccb.org/bible/readings/082320.cfm

While living on earth, Each Saint also admitted his/her sin, repented & gave thanks to God for mercy & forgiveness. WORDONFIRE.ORG St. John Paul II, the Heroic Pope Bishop Robert Barron October 22 at 5:02 PM · Friends, saints exist, not for themselves, but for the Church. Celebrate 🎉 All Saints' Day ! 🙏🇺🇸 Bishop Robert Barron November 1 at 8:13 AM · Friends, there’s only one real sadness in life—not to be a saint. But what does it mean to follow this path of righteousness? To follow the will of God, and God wills that we habitually direct our actions and thoughts to the good of others. Jesus says blessed are the merciful, the peacemakers, the pure in heart. Following Christ’s Sermon on the Mount leads to our beatitude; living in this way leads to sainthood. Honoring St. Joseph, man of great Faith. Bishop Robert Barron December 8 at 8:10 PM · Friends, I am happy to announce that today marks the first day of the Year of St. Joseph. Pope Francis declared this celebration in a decree published last Tuesday in order to celebrate the 150th anniversary of St. Joseph as Patron of the Universal Church. This will grant special indulgences to mark the year and is intended to help Christians strengthen their faith. This decree also includes personal reflections on St. Joseph by Pope Francis, further explaining why St. Joseph serves as a good model for Christians today. Bishop Robert Barron January 1 at 11:00 AM · Friends, today we celebrate the Blessed Virgin Mary as the Mother of God. St. Irenaeus says that, throughout the history of salvation, God was trying on humanity, gradually suiting divinity and humanity to one another—preparing for the Incarnation. All of that preparation was a prelude to the Israelite girl who would say yes to the invitation to be the Mother of God. To say that Mary is the Mother of God is to insist on the density of the claim that God truly became human. As Fulton J. Sheen commented, Mary is like the moon, for her light is always the reflection of a higher light. Catholic theology has drawn a further implication from Mary’s status as Mother of God—her role as Mother of the Church. If she is the one through whom Christ was born, and if the Church is indeed Christ’s Mystical Body, then she must be, in a very real sense, the Mother of the Church. She is the one through whom Jesus continues to be born in the hearts of those who believe. This is not to confuse her with the Savior, but it is to insist on her mission as mediator and intercessor. https://bible.usccb.org/bible/readings/010121.cfm
