We would like to share with you, a kind letter we received from Warren County Sheriff Larry L. Sims in regards to hosting the “Hamburgers for Heroes” event on September 10th. We are so blessed the event was a success for Lebanon! Proceeds raised were donated to the Lebanon Food Pantry. Mark your calendars for September 10th, 2021 for our second annual Hamburgers for Heroes!
DO YOU KNOW WHEN TO STOP FOR SCHOOL BUSES? According to Ohio Law, it depends on the number of lanes. On a two-lane street, drivers approaching a stopped school bus from either direction must stop at least ten feet away from the front or back of the bus until it resumes motion or until given a signal from the bus driver to proceed. If a road is divided into four or more lanes, a driver approaching a stopped school bus from the opposite direction does not need to stop. Only drivers on the same side of the roadway need to stop. On a four lane road, Ohio law also requires students to be picked up and dropped off on the same side as their residence. Failure to comply with Ohio school bus laws could mean a fine of up to 500 dollars and a driver's license suspension.
PARENTS: What your new drivers need to know if they are in the unfortunate situation of being involved in an automobile accident. Newly licensed teenagers on the road
FACT! A lot of drivers are treating our roadways like raceways. Just since April, the State Highway Patrol has issued over 2,200 tickets for driving more than 100 mph. Please be aware of these drivers, drive defensively, and always wear your seatbelt. We hope you and your loved ones stay safe, but if you ever have a question or a situation you would like to discuss, feel free to reach out to us at 513-932-2121.
Today we were thrilled to present a check to the Lebanon Food Pantry in the amount of $2,936.00 from the proceeds of the Hamburgers for Heroes event! Thanks again to all the volunteers, Hamburger Wagon, generous participants and most important our “Heroes!” Pictured from left to right: Jerry Harrod (Coordinator, LFP), Kristin Davenport (President, LFP), Thomas Diehl and Martin Hubbell (Attorneys, Diehl & Hubbell).

What we've been up to...unfortunate accident at a Big Box retailer. Unfortunate Accident at Big Box Retailer
Fall is a wonderful time of the year to get out of the house, take a relaxing drive, and enjoy the beautiful fall colors sweeping across the Ohio countryside! Fall can also be a dangerous time for motorists driving over wet roads covered with leaves because wet leaves can be as slippery as ice! Also, potholes covered with leaves can result in a tire blowout or loss of vehicle control. Whether your driving a car, motorcycle, or riding a bicycle, reduce your speed and use extra caution on leaf-covered roadways.
FORGOTTEN LAW... We all have forgot this law! The Ohio drivers education manual states that you must honk the horn, signaling your intent to pass another vehicle on the left of a two-lane road. This actually makes sense as it alerts the other driver you are about to pass. Not sure though if you could actually receive a traffic violation for not honking, although it does allow for safer driving. Let’s all do our part to be considerate of others and share the road safely!
PARENTS… October 20-26th is National Teen Safe Driving Week! There are many distractions while driving, and it is so crucial to talk to our teens about how they can keep themselves and others around them safe while on the road. If you are a parent, your child’s safety is your first concern, and it is important to establish some “rules-of-the-road!” Ohio.gov has great information and a teen driver contract that may help. https://ohio.gov/wps/portal/gov/site/media-center/news-and-events/press-release-national-teen-driver-safety-week
Are the deadlines to file car accident claims always the same? Listen as auto and injury Attorney, Tom Diehl explains some important exceptions to these rules.
PARENTS… our children love the magic of Halloween, but did you know that twice as many children are injured or killed while walking on Halloween than any other day of the year? When children are on the prowl this Halloween it is important that they wear bright or reflective clothing, never enter a strangers home or car, always Trick-or-Treat with a parent or friend and not alone, carry a flashlight, walk on sidewalks not through yards, travel only in well-lit areas that are familiar, look both ways before you cross the street, always cross the street at corner crosswalks and never between cars, and always watch for cars turning or backing up. Please share these tips with family and friends. Be safe and be seen this Halloween!
MOTORISTS & PARENTS… must be extra cautious and alert on Halloween because excited Trick-or-Treaters often forget about safety! If you plan on driving in residential neighborhoods during Trick-or-Treat hours it is so important to slow your speed and obey all traffic signs, turn on your headlights to make yourself visible to others, keep mobile phone down and stay alert, look ahead for children crossing the street especially between cars, enter and exit driveways or alleys carefully, discourage new or inexperienced drivers from even driving on Halloween. Let’s make this Halloween a safe and happy one!
How should you pay for medical bills from a car accident that wasn't your fault? Listen as Accident and Injury Attorney, Tom Diehl addresses this FAQ. How to handle medical bills after a car accident
As we approach the holiday season, are your car tires ready for winter? With winter, comes freezing rain, ice, and snow. Age of tires, tire pressure, and tire tread depth are crucial to maintain tire performance and safe driving especially on wet, icy, snow covered roads. Also, did you know that tires over 6 years old can crack and possibly explode while driving which could cause a serious accident? Tires are a vital part of your vehicle, and the only thing between you, your loved ones, and the road. Here are some important tips to keep tires in good condition and keep you safe while driving: • Visually inspect tires regularly • Check tire pressure monthly • Rotate tires every 5,000 miles • Check tire tread regularly using the penny test.
GET READY TO SET YOUR CLOCKS BACK ONE HOUR! Sunday November 1st at 2:00 am is the end of Daylight Saving Time (DST)! Sunrise and sunset will be one hour earlier. Now, we can all enjoy an “extra” hour of much needed sleep, especially after Covid-19 has changed the way we live. Some people use the extra hour to: replace the batteries in their smoke detectors, check their furnace and water heater, clean their gutters, restock their emergency kit, or maybe check their car battery or tires to prepare for the upcoming winter. So when you wake up Sunday Nov. 1… WHAT WILL YOU DO WITH THAT EXTRA HOUR?

Attorney Tom Diehl answers FAQ: What if I'm unable to go to my lawyer's office? What if I can't travel?
This recipe has been a Thanksgiving Day tradition in our house since I found it almost 20 years ago! Even those who say they don’t like sweet potatoes often end up asking for seconds! It’s so sweet and rich, it really could be served as dessert. Try it, and let us know if this is the best Sweet Potato Soufflé you’ve ever tasted?
A major contributor to holiday motor vehicle accidents is impaired driving. Texting is the most alarming distraction of impaired driving. Sending or reading a text takes your eyes off the road for about 5 seconds. At 55 mph, that's like driving the length of an entire football field with your eyes closed. You cannot drive safely unless the task of driving has your full attention. When drivers choose to do anything that distracts them from paying full attention to the road, they choose to risk their own lives, the lives of their passengers, and the lives of everyone else around them. Let’s all put our phones down while driving and enjoy a happy, healthy and safe holiday season!
Wishing you a Happy Thanksgiving! Are you revamping any of your favorite Thanksgiving traditions and celebrations this year?
The day before Thanksgiving “Blackout Wednesday” or “Drinksgiving” is a big party time for people off work and students home for the holidays visiting their family and friends. This can also be a dangerous time for encountering intoxicated drivers on our roadways. From now until New Years day, alcohol related crashes are heightened! If you attend parties and plan on drinking devise a “transportation plan” before the night begins: appoint a designated driver or take a Taxi to and from the party, spend the night at a host’s home, and don’t let a friend drive intoxicated. Take their keys or call them a taxi. And remember, the most dangerous day of the year is the one when you choose to drink and drive! From our family to yours, have a great holiday season and stay safe! What if I wasn’t wearing a seat belt and I got hurt? Accident attorney, Tom Diehl addresses this FAQ.
Can social media hurt my personal injury case? Social media has become such an ingrained part of our daily lives—sharing with family, friends, and coworkers our life experiences seems second-nature. In situations involving car accidents, posting about you or a family member’s experience, loss, or injuries can potentially jeopardize any personal injury claims brought later. Learn more about why sharing car accident information on social media can significantly impact an injury case. Best wishes for a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year filled with good health and happiness!
We wish you a very Happy, Healthy, Prosperous, and a much more normal 2021!
One of the greatest joys of the holiday season is the opportunity to say thank you, and to wish you and your family the very best for a new year filled with good health, peace, happiness and prosperity. Happy New Year!
New Year’s Eve is an occasion to celebrate, and the last thing you need is a safety hiccup! The roads are particularly dangerous on New Year’s Eve, so it is important to NOT drink and drive. Plan ahead by arranging a taxi to and from the party, or appoint a designated driver for the evening. If you are celebrating at a friends house, ask to spend the night to avoid encountering other drivers on the road that may be under the influence. While it is important to have fun, keeping a level head and not getting injured in an auto accident should be your top priority! Please enjoy a SAFE and HAPPY NEW YEAR!
