Sherwood Forest House of Hope is ranch style home with four bedrooms on the main level and is licensed by the Wisconsin Department of Health and Family Services as an Adult Family Home.
Conveniently located in Altoona Wisconsin, the House of Hope is less than two miles from Eau Claire. Our community has several places of worship, parks, medical centers, and major department stores for convenient day trips with family members or staff.
At the House of Hope our primary goal is to provide a comfortable family atmosphere in a peaceful setting, while maintaining the highest quality of care. We strive to provide hope and individualized care for people with disabilities specializing in those who have experienced a brain injury.
We believe that in order to help an individual, all their needs must be considered, physical, mental, and spiritual. We also believe that individuals need to feel like they are part of a family as well as the community.
The principles which the House of Hope cares for others are established upon the teachings of the Christian Faith. We offer Bible readings each week as well as prayer. The home environment reflects Christian values. It is the faith of Nathan and Beth Dietsche that motivates them to care for others.
The House of Hope is in a quiet neighborhood of Altoona and is wheelchair accessible for our non-ambulatory residents. We offer private rooms and accommodate personal tastes and preferences in décor. Each bedroom comes equipped with a bed, nightstand, dresser and a working cable TV jack.
Our main bath includes a walk-in shower with full handicap capability. A spacious kitchen and living room, along with a large outdoor deck and patio combine to provide substantial living area. We also have a main floor laundry.
While each individuals care plan is tailored to meet their specific needs, examples of the services offered at the Hose of Hope include activities of daily living, medication management, laundry, meals, transportation, recreational events, and individual therapeutic support. Our staff has decades of combined experience and is continually trained in current health and safety policies and procedures. Staff is available 24 hours a day and a Registered Nurse is available as needed according to each resident’s individualized care plan.
