August 2020 is observed as National Eye Exam Month. Correct vision helps everyone to effectively function throughout the day. Our comprehensive eye health and vision acuity exam system is also utilized to detect several early stage health issues and includes a “dual operating system”. Exams can be remotely performed by the Optometrist distant from the Patient location with teleconference communication or with the “flip of a switch” to an on-site Optometrist who can perform a “face-to-face” eye exam of the Patient.

Telehealth Capability Expanding
DigitalOptometrics is accelerating its efforts to multi-state license its Optometrists who perform remote comprehensive eye exams from their home offices. As travel becomes more limited during the current virus epidemic we anticipate greater demand for eye health and vision analysis from underserved and remote communities that lack available Optometrists to perform comprehensive eye exams. Ultimately, our hope is that State Boards of Optometry, follow the lead of the federal government, amend current regulations by permitting licensed Optometrists from any State to perform tele-optometry in other States without being licensed in each individual State to expand delivery of health care capabilities and services throughout the United States with the use of telehealth
tele-optometry technology.
With tele-optometry, Patients can now have greater access to quality comprehensive eye exams. They can be examined at dates and times of their choosing rather than based on the availability of an Optometrist to conduct the eye exam.
