Why should you choose a detail oriented contractor? Banks of windows like these are a common culprit for water intrusion, so proper weatherproofing is essential to maintain the integrity of your home’s frame. It all starts with a sill pan prior to window unit install, as displayed on this new home we are currently constructing. Our building departments don’t do exterior envelope inspections, so it is essential that your general contractor or siding contractor understand best practices when it comes to weatherproofing. Properly installed housewrap and window flashing will create a weathertight envelope prior to trim and siding. I regularly see improperly installed windows, building wrap, and window flashing on new homes, and have had to perform significant repairs on relatively new homes that were insufficiently weatherproofed. These repairs can cost tens of thousands of dollars, and if the condition is left undetected, structural failure of the home is possible.
This is just one of hundreds of little details that can make or break a new home build or remodel.

Blessed with a weather window to complete excavation on this new custom home.
A couple of fresh pics from this morning of a house we completed earlier this year. This was one of the most logistically challenging projects we’ve completed to date, and we couldn’t be happier with the results! Many thanks to frontier building supply and as always @cedarcountrylumber for the outstanding support and materials! Check our website for additional photos. @ Samish Island, Washington
Finally getting back to wrapping up this big shop for a continuing client. Sheeting the roof starts tomorrow!
That’s a wrap! Earlier this year we did this black Crystalite cable rail with toe bar on this beautiful PNW home. The exterior needed a few repairs done and of course it needed all new paint. Followed that up with a pair of new modern garage doors so everything matches. Finally we did the custom flashings to cap the beams and posts. Installed some pre-finished new cedar 4x4s for some Arbor perfection!
It’s almost time to welcome our clients home.
Nice to see this one getting off the ground. Going to be a really cool house, or as we call it, the covered porch with a house attached.

Deck season is rapidly approaching and we are already experiencing high demand for our services. If you are experienced, detail oriented, willing to learn new systems, and interested in working for an established and well regarded company, we would love to talk with you. Pay is DOE and DOP (dependent on proof) you can do what you say.
There is room for growth for the right candidates, so this is not just a seasonal offering. Work areas include western skagit county, northern island county (north whidbey), and very occasionally the San Juan islands.
Resume MUST accompany an application. If you don’t upload a resume, I’ll assume you either can’t follow instructions, don’t read instructions thoroughly, or lack the drive to figure out how to create and upload a resume. All three indicate you are unfit for employment with us.

I have it on good authority that back in the 90’s, hold downs were most effective when the anchor bolt was either bent over with no nut or too short and no nut. This particular wall is clearly well anchored to the foundation, and we should all pay close attention to the integrity and focus displayed back when they built them like they used to...
Good thing the inspectors measure nail spacing now...
BIG news here at Dihedral...no, it’s not that we finally got the graphics installed on our ‘new’ work van, but that we are officially announcing our expansion into the Sandpoint, ID market. This expansion will not replace or detract from our commitment to our Anacortes and western Skagit county clients, but will rather bring our exceptional craftsmanship and focus to a growing market that is in need of quality builders. Kickoff for our Sandpoint work will be this coming spring and will initially be limited to new construction work only. Thanks to @signdog_nw for the great graphics design and excellent customer service!
Millwork has almost come to an end @ our Anacortes House. Passed it off to painters & misc subs this morning for the final push! 1 week to go!
First week of framing is almost through on our Guemes island custom ...this is going to be a very cool house with some cool features, so stay tuned for updates. @frontierbuildingsupply @cedarcountrylumber #guemesisland #anacortesbuilder #customhomes #craftsmanship
