The coronavirus can affect anyone, but for various reasons the virus has disproportionately affected the Black and Latino communities. We sat down with Leonard Blake-Lee, a member of the Boston Parks and Recreation Commission, who is helping to slow the spread by “masking the community.” To date, his initiative has handed out over 100,000 masks to at risk communities in the greater Boston area. We are so happy we were able to bring joy and food to these teams of frontline workers this past week. We hope we inspired others along the way to give back to your community's essential workers in any way you can!
Last night we served a meal from Banners Kitchen & Tap to the awesome staff at MGH. Sophie's unit works on the lung floor, which quickly became ground zero for Covid-19 patients. This team has worked every single day to continue fighting the virus. We can't thank them enough!
