Invert of the Week:
The Mini Maxi Carpet Anemone!
The Mini Carpet Anemone is a very vibrant anemone that may host anemone crabs and anemone shrimp, but sadly they are not known to host clownfish. Although the Mini Carpet anemone can sting like other anemones and Rhodactis mushrooms, it is not an aggressive anemone. Its small size and easy care makes it perfect for the novice aquarist and nano-aquarium enthusiasts. We have 2 of these in stock!!
Fish of the Week:
Green Warpaint Clown Goby
The Green Clown Goby, also known as the Warpaint Goby, is common within the reefs of the Indo Pacific, found usually among soft and hard coral colonies. They are a small stocky shaped fish with a very large head for their size. There are many different color variations, and this species is a yellow to greenish-tan color with orange vertical stripes on its head. They are a peaceful fish that makes a wonderful addition to a reef aquarium containing colonies of polyp corals, as they enjoy swimming and hiding amongst the polyps. They require a 10 gallon or larger aquarium preferably with branching coral. It will rarely become aggressive towards other fish, but will fight with its own kind in smaller tanks. Therefore, it is best if it is kept with other docile species. We have 3 in stock!
We got some interesting creatures in this week! Anywhere from Mini-Maxi Carpet Anemones to Warpaint Gobies!!🐠🐠
Fish of the Week:
The Convict Cichlid
The Convict Cichlid requires a 30 gallon minimum tank, with a gravel bottom, rocks and plenty of hiding places among the rocks or some inverted pots. Floating plants are recommended as a form of cover. Because of their aggressive nature, Black Convict Cichlids should only be housed with other more aggressive fish of the same size or larger. They are omnivorous and will eat most prepared and frozen foods, including freeze-dried bloodworms, tubifex, and ocean plankton, as well as flake food and Cichlid pellets. We have many in stock!!
Invert of the Week:
The Duncan Coral
This coral is peaceful and does well with other non-aggressive corals and invertebrates, provided it has ample room to grow. Though they feed through photosynthesis via the symbiotic algae zooxanthellae that thrive on the colony, this coral also benefits from regular target feedings of meaty marine foods such as enriched mysis and brine shrimp.
It also benefits from the addition of calcium, strontium, and other trace elements to the water column. We have 3 colony’s in stock!!!
