onald P. Madsen was born and raised in Northern
California, and Southern Oregon. He served a two
year religious mission in Guatemala, Central
America, where he learned to speak Spanish (se
habla Espaol).
In 1989 he attended Brigham Young University
where he played baseball for two years before
deciding to dedicate himself to the study of
Sociology and Law. He graduated with a Bachelor
s in science in Sociology in 1994.
Don attended McGeorge School of Law, University
of the Pacific, while working as a law clerk for
local attorneys. He graduated in 1999 where he
was recognized by the Sacramento County Estate
Planning Council for his achievements.
In 2002 Don began his sole proprietor firm. His
focus then, as it is now, is on Estate Planning,
including Wills, Trusts, Trust Administration,
Conservatorships, and Probate. He is a member of
the California Bar Association and the
Sacramento County Bar Association. He recently
joined long time friend and college Richard Sopp
to form WHEATLEY, SOPP AND MADSEN, LLP.
Don especially enjoys working with his Spanish
speaking clientele. He has been a speaker in the
past few years at the Fiesta Educativa, a non-profit
educational program put on each year for Spanish
Speaking parents that have children with
disabilities. He conducts his presentation on
Conservatorships in Spanish.
Dons passions outside of the office include
coaching his four children in youth sports. He has
coached youth basketball, baseball and football
for several years. When he finds time for himself,
he enjoys spending time with his family, playing
Golf, and Tennis. You can often find Don and
family hiking or mountain biking in the mountains
of Northern Ca
