Dr. Stefanie Dougherty grew up in the small town of Dieterich, Illinois. She was a graduate of Dieterich High School in 1997. Having braces herself, she knew that the field of dentistry was for her. Dr. Dougherty was accepted into the combined baccalaureate in Biology/Doctorate in Dentistry Program at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. The rigorous program allowed Dr. Dougherty to complete her pre-professional curriculum at SIUE in three years and obtain her Bachelor of Science, cum laude, by SIUE following the first year of her professional dental curriculum at Southern Illinois University School of Dental Medicine in Alton, IL. She completed her training and received her D.M.D., cum laude, in 2004.
While in dental school, Dr. Dougherty met her amazing husband, Jeff. After graduation they decided to live and work in St. Charles County, MO, in order to be close to both of their families. Dr. Dougherty practiced general dentistry for three years before deciding to follow her passion for orthodontics. She attended Indiana University School of Dentistry and completed her orthodontic residency in 2009, receiving her Master of Science in Dentistry degree and her certificate in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics.
Drs. Stefanie and Jeff Dougherty are parents to their sons, Brody and Kolton. Their family enjoys cheering on the Cardinals (Go Cards!), traveling, music, and movies. When Dr. Stefanie Dougherty is away from the office she also enjoys reading, playing the piano, and helping others.
