Scoliosis is not a simple bend or twist of the spine, like it may be easy to think.⚡
.
Scoliosis is a complex distortion of the spine that moves the spine out of it's natural alignment in 3D. Typically, spine moves forward, bends sideways and twists backward- forward, creating uneven shoulders, waist line, and hips, as well as rib and back bumps and overall lopsided attitide.🔊
.
Research suggests that these changes occur at every level of the spine, but at different rates in different vertebrae.💡
.
These 3D changes cannot be captured by a 2D xray commonly used to assess scoliosis and measure the degree of curvature, a.k.a Cobb angle.❌
.
Often, people undergoing the Schroth treatment, despite Cobb angles staying at the similar magnitude, become more symmetrical, and with improved back bumps.✔👍
.
Can you guess why the curve might not change, but the body morphology looks better???⁉️😀

"All ITBs are tight. You can't lengthen them. How horrible would it be if you could lengthen out fascia and connective tissue that we want to be stiff and strong in order to transmit forces and store and release elastic energy." Dr. Gregory Lehman

This video demonstrates how the pelvis corrections are so important and that pelvis positioning does affect the rest of the spine and head positioning. The pelvis is the foundation for the house! My patients know if you tell me your neck hurts, we start at the pelvis. Thanks for sharing your video Hagit.

Get #DONOHARM certified! Course can be booked in the gym’s location! Everyone should only listen to educated instructors who are thinking of the purpose of the exercise and if this exercise will benefit the client or not.
Can you guess what this exercise will do to the lumbar spine? Can you see how a normal pattern of sit stand motion is going to be disturbed by a stupid exercise like this?
Learn how to assess your client’s needs and prepare exercises which will make a difference in their wellness and the movements and exercises will not harm them in the future. Hyper mobility of the lumbar segments with increased flexion will not give you the best future! Sagittal profile should be protected and improved not destroyed!!
