The Downsizing Eugene Group was born out of the personal experiences of Ron Bush & Ed Conrad. Both Ron & Ed had hands-on personal experiences with the downsizing and moving of their respective parents, as well as their eventual progression from independent living to assisted living to acute care. Ed & Ron found that there was no central source of information and guidance to consult regarding what resources were available for their parents and families during the initial period of "crisis" and continuing on through the twists and turns that their parents went through. They had to develop their own solutions, without guidance from anyone with experience in such matters. Looking back, they both feel that, if there had been a central professional resource to consult, they could have saved themselves and their parents considerable time, money, stress and heartache.
On the positive side, because of their experiences, they were able to conceive and create a comprehensive service--The Downsizing Eugene Group-- which not only provides real estate assistance for aging adults who want or need to sell their family home or purchase a smaller home, but also has access to other important resources to help aging adults and their families. For example: Aging-in-Place services, home health assistance, estate planning, senior's financial planning, elder law, retirement communities experts, senior moving services, reverse mortgages, etc. There are too many resources to list them all here.
