As a longtime sufferer from the effects of varicose veins, the medical treatment of varicose veins is more than a professional undertaking for me; it has been, and continues to be, a lifelong personal oddyssey. For the past 20 years, I have manages varicose veins for my own primary care patients with sclerotherapy and microphlebectomy. When thermal ablation was approved by the FDA I joined the Advanced Laser Vein Center (ALVC) in Elk Grove Village, IL. I have become one of several regular providers and performed thousands of varicose veins procedures, including sclerotherapy, ambulatory microphlebectomy, and thermal laser ablation. I have been managing all kinds of wounds, including venous ulcers of the leg and hyperbaric medicine (HBO). I have been certified by the American Board of Venous and Lymphatic Medicine, in addition to my prior certification and recertification by American Board of Internal Medicine. I currently serve as the Chairman of the Department of Internal Medicine at Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights, Illinois.
