Our current X-ray machine is breaking down and needs frequent re-starts to get us a clear image. Continuously re-starting and re-taking images has created a backlog list of animals that need X-rays. No one wants our shelter pets to be here longer than absolutely necessary, but this backlog list will only continue to grow until we purchase a new machine. Our ability to take X-rays is essential to the health of the pets who come into our care every single day. Pets like Rainier, a stray husky who was limping heavily and unwilling to stand for long periods. X-ray images revealed broken bones in his pelvis, possibly the result of being hit by a car. The sweet pup was in immense pain and needed an amputation immediately. Without taking X-rays of Rainier’s body, we may never have known the reason for his pain and the trauma he endured. Your donation today will help us raise the unbudgeted expense of $37,936 for a new X-ray machine and will help countless homeless pets, like Rainier, with the life-saving care they need to survive. We have selected a new X-Ray machine that will not only replace the old one but improve on it as well. Tomorrow we are joining many of our fellow restaurants and bars in safely re-opening with the advice and guidance from Governor Inslee as well as state and local health boards.
