Why did you choose to specialize in Gastroenterology?
Gastroenterology is a unique field of medicine which provides the opportunity to assist patients by combining both analytical problem solving during clinic visits, as well as visually through performing endoscopies. I attribute my passion for my career in this foundation and in having the privilege to take care of patients on a daily basis and allowing them to feel at ease to discuss their concerns and address their needs.
Do you have a specialty of interest within GI?
I enjoy the variety of health concerns in gastroenterology, including GERD, peptic ulcer disease, inflammatory bowel disease, functional GI disease, as well as colon cancer screening and disease prevention. I also have a special interest and experience pertaining to women’s GI health and diseases.

What do you and your family enjoy doing in your spare time?
When not at work, I enjoy spending time with my family, traveling, gardening, horseback riding, fishing, taking care of pets, attending church, and practicing Tai Chi.

I have published research in various medical journals and done multiple presentations at GI conferences.
