Dr. Carmichael specializes in stress management, anxiety, relationship issues, and goal attainment. She offers a complimentary 15-minute phone consultation for new clients. Sessions are interactive and focused.

As a psychologist and former yoga teacher, the #bodymind connection almost cannot be overstated-- seriously, I'm almost always telling people to get massages for some reason or another... and today I decided to take my own medicine!!! 💉💊🏥 Did you know that massages are not just an indulgence, they are actually effective at reducing cortisol levels (cortisol is basically our stress hormone)? So if you're under stress (and who isn't?!) then a massage could help ❤️ Massages are also good if you're experiencing "skin hunger" which is when your body is really missing being touched... this can happen due to anything from a breakup to a pandemic-- or even both 😯 Massages are also a really nice self-esteem booster-- they're a behavioral way to show yourself that you're practicing good self-care 🤗 Final tip: If you sometimes find it hard to relax into a massage because your mind is going a million miles an hour, try playing an audiobook (preferably one of mine;) 📚 This can help stop your brain from auto-focusing on your to-do list etc ❤️

Did you know that we actually think about the things differently when we're walking than when we're sitting still? 🚶If you ever feel stuck on a problem or a mood, try going for a walk- not a panacea of course, but you may be surprised 💡 Did you know that green space can actually help to reduce stress? 🌳 It can also helps to restore overstimulated minds, just fyi 😅 I went on a really amazing walk with a business group I'm in.
