Francisco Borja, M.D., is an orthopedic surgeon with Miami Orthopedics & Sports Medicine Institute and a member of Baptist Health Medical Group, an organization of more than 180 physicians in multiple specialties closely aligned with Baptist Health South Florida. He specializes in hip and knee joint replacement. A native of Madrid, Dr. Borja received his medical degree from the Complutense University of Madrid and completed his residency in orthopedic surgery at St. Luke's Hospital in Cleveland. He served as the Annie C. Kane Fellow in hip and knee reconstruction at New York Orthopedic Hospital/Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center. In 1980-1986 he was chief surgeon of the department of orthopedics and rehabilitation at the University of Miami. Dr. Borja has published in several medical journals on hip and knee joint replacement and knee surgery. He has participated in clinical research on arthritis and bone banking and has delivered numerous presentations at national and international medical meetings.
