Jorge Raul Caso, M.D., is a urologic oncologist at Miami Cancer Institute. He specializes in the medical and surgical treatment of various urologic conditions, including kidney, prostate, bladder and testicular cancers. Dedicated to the highest standard of patient care, Dr. Caso provides cutting-edge treatment options such as laparoscopic and robotic surgery. He earned a master’s degree in public health from the University of South Florida in Tampa. He earned his medical degree and completed a surgery internship and urology residency at the University of South Florida College of Medicine. His postdoctoral training also includes a fellowship in urologic oncology at Duke University Medical Center. Dr. Caso is board certified by the American Board of Urology. He has lectured in national and international conferences on advanced laparoscopic and robotic surgery for genitourinary malignancies. He has extensive experience in kidney surgery, including the utilization of laparoscopic single site and robotic platforms for nephrectomy and partial nephrectomy. He has particular interest in extraperitoneal and retroperitoneal approaches to renal and pelvic surgery, bypassing intraabdominal approaches where precluded by medical history. He is an expert in performing robotic radical prostatectomy and complex upper and lower tract reconstruction by minimally invasive means. Dr. Caso has published extensively in the surgery and natural history of varied urologic malignancies. His interests include outcomes based-research and novel surgical techniques. Dr. Caso serves as a voluntary urology faculty member at Florida International University’s Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine.
