Dr. Luis Andres Dibos is a board certified cardiothoracic surgeon at MedStar Union Memorial Hospital in Baltimore, MD. His clinical interests include minimally invasive valve surgery, the maze procedure for atrial fibrillation and beating heart (or off-pump) bypass procedures. He has performed more than 5,000 cardiac surgical cases, including close to 2,000 beating-heart bypass procedures. He is also involved in the transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) program. Using a multidisciplinary approach to care, Dr. Dibos collaborates with multiple nurses, physician assistants and other specialists to ensure the best results for his patients. He attended medical school at the Universidad Autonoma de Ciudad Juarez and Ponce School of Medicine. He then completed his internship at Robert Packer Hospital followed by a general surgery residency at MedStar Union Memorial. In addition, he completed a cardiac surgery fellowship at SUNY Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse, NY and a chief resident year in cardiac surgery at the Cleveland Clinic. Recognized repeatedly for clinical excellence, he has been named a Baltimore magazine Top Doctor for Cardiac Surgery multiple times.
