Integrative Dentistry is a comprehensive, whole body approach that combines the art of dentistry with neuromuscular, biological, physiologic, and holistic dental and medical principles, and natural therapies.
Many practitioners have been influential in helping me develop my treatment approach and philosophy of practice; my father and mentor, Dr. George J. Baylin, whose dedication to the dental profession and devotion to his patients built the foundation for my passion for dentistry; Dr. Aelred Fonder, “The Dental Physician,” who opened the world to the influence of dentistry on the autonomic nervous system and overall health; Dr. Dietrich Klinghardt, who eloquently explained the dentist’s role in disease and dysfunction and provided an evaluation process (Autonomic Response Testing); Dr. Yoshiaki Omura, who developed the phenomenon of Direct Resonance and provided the framework for uncovering the underlying causes of pain, disease, and dysfunction; Dr. Dan Gole who further elaborated the intricate relationship of occlusion and its effects on health; Dr. Harold Gelb, who pioneered the treatment of headaches and temporomandibular joint disorders; Dr. Hal Huggins who persevered in studying the issue of mercury toxicity in professionals and patients; and Dr. Weston Price, whose research validated the relationship of dental infections to chronic illness, and the effects of white flour, sugar, refined foods, and fats on dental disease, growth, and development.
