Dr. Ramon L. Lloret was founding member and president of the Cardiovascular Center of South Florida where he managed the group practice’s hospital program, and now practices with the cardiology group of Miami Cardiac and Vascular Institute.
Dr. Lloret is board certified in internal medicine, cardiology and interventional cardiology. A member of the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Intervention, he has specific interests in management of acute coronary syndromes including the expeditious management of heart attacks and congestive heart failure management. He became an expert in managing high risk coronary interventions, such as chronic total inclusions and the use of left ventricular assist devices to manage cardiogenic shock.
He has served as principal investigator in numerous clinical trials involving acute coronary syndromes, hypertension, lipid disorders and various anticoagulation and clotting disorders. He was the lead author in the Starship Trial sponsored by AstraZeneca focusing on the treatment of hyperlipidemia in the Hispanic population. Dr. Lloret was named the Good News Care Center Volunteer Physician of the Year and continues to perform volunteer work in the community by treating unfunded patients on a pro bono basis. He is fluent in English and Spanish.
