Dr. Paul Dayton was honored to be part of the team that recently published this article in Foot Ankle Orthopaedics. This article highlights that a small amount of shortening with a tarsometatarsal joint arthrodesis does not produce lesser MPJ overload if triplane correction of the first ray is achieved. This challenges one of the traditional notions regarding bunion surgery.

Never put regular diabetic foot care on the back burner. What seems like a minor cut or bruise can lead to major foot complications if left unchecked. People with diabetes are at an increased risk to develop ulcers on their feet. If you have diabetes, keep up with daily foot checks and regular visits to your podiatrist for treatment.
