Grand Traverse Allergy updated their business hours.
All of us at GTA hope everyone is doing well and staying safe during this crazy time we are all going through. We are doing all we can to make sure we keep every one healthy and stay safe.
If you are an allergy injection who comes in, as the last message says we are doing a curb side injection. When you get to our office, there is a number posted on our injection door, call that # 231-714-9173 (this is the injection lab) and let them know you are here and a nurse will be right out with your injection. Please note that Fridays we are closed for the time being and we will not be accepting walkin injections. You must have an appt to get your injection for right now.
Dr Lazar is also still seeing patients via telemedicine appt. You can call Nicole and she will set that up and send you the link on your smart phone or computer to login, just be sure to let her know which one you would like.
We will all get through this together, and we will all be so excited to see your faces in real time again!!
Please make sure to let us know if we can help!!
Thank you everyone!
GTA Staff
Effective immediately, Grand Traverse Allergy will only be doing injections if you have an appointment. We will not be doing walk-ins right now with all that is happening with the COVID-19 pandemic. We will be doing curbside injections to keep everyone safe. When you come to get your injection, please call 231-714-9173. This is the direct line to the injection lab. Let the nurse know your here and she will be right out to give your injections.
Xolair and Nucala patients, please come to the door as you will be escorted to a room to receive your injection.
Any patient coming in to see Dr Lazar, we will be doing inital evaluations at the door. Please do not come if you have a respiratory infection, if you have a fever greater than 100.4, if you have cough, shortness of breath, or sore throat. If you feel you need to see Dr Lazar, we can still see you via a telehealth appt. Call and speak with Nikki or Nicole to learn how.
If you need anything, please call our office! We want to make this as easy as we can while keeping everyone safe and well!!

The COVID-19 Vaccine: The Latest Information for People With Asthma and Allergies
What should you do before bed (if you have allergies)?
Throughout the day your body and hair are exposed to and collect many allergens such as pollen and dust. Accordingly, if you shower or bathe in the morning, try switching your time to wash your hair and body before bed time so that you don't bring allergens into bed with you. #allergyshots #allergies #grandtraverseallergy

Have you changed your furnace filter lately?
Get a high efficiency furnace filter to capture allergens like dust, pollen, and mold. Change the filter often to prevent a build-up of particles. Mold and bacteria can grow on filters if they’re not changed frequently. #nomoresneezing #GrandTraverseAllergy #immunology #allergyshots #allergies
Remember, antihistamines can help with your allergy shots!
Remembering to take your antihistamine before each shot (the day before and/or day of) can help reduce side effects and reactions. We especially recommend taking them as you get closer to your maintenance dose as reactions at the injection site can get worse.

Do you have asthma or eczema?
Allergy shots can help!
When people think of allergy symptoms, they usually think of itchy eyes, stuffy, runny nose, or anaphylaxis.
Getting your allergies under control may also help reduce flare-ups for both asthma and eczema by improving breathing, need for medications and reducing the skins inflammatory response to environmental allergens.
Sick of wearing a MASK?
You may want to keep it around even after COVID 19 is history!
When you do things like sweep dusty spaces, garden or vacuum, small particles are released into the air and can really get your allergies flaring up.
Keep a mask around for these times to keep allergens from getting into your airways. N95 masks will block 95% of small particles including allergens.
