Today’s interesting procedure... patient presented with radiolucency apical to the root of tooth number 8... history of root canal treatment 20 years ago, and a retreatment 10 years ago. Patient had discomfort and swelling that began approximately three weeks ago. differential diagnosis included a failing root canal treatment on tooth #8 verses an incisive canal cyst. Risks and complications were explained to the patient and it was suggested that a biopsy of the cyst be performed, and apicoectomy and a retrofill performed on tooth #8, and a bone graft performed with platelet rich fibrin growth factors and a foundation bone graft., along with PRF membranes. The cystic material that was biopsied will be forwarded to the University of Florida Oral Pathology department for definitive diagnosis of the cyst. Post operative radiograph shows the completed apicoectomy and retrofill. Super EBA used for the retrofill. Patient tolerated the procedure well.

Post-Covid Vaccine administration Day 1... my arm hasn’t fallen off and there are no major side effects... only a bit of a sore arm like I got knuckle punched... no temp, no chills, no sweats... nothing but a sore deltoid...

Canine Case of the Week!!! Horizontally impacted maxillary canines #6 and #11. These canines were High and partially into the nasal floor and butted up to the roots of the lateral incisors. Removal required careful boney dissection so as not to damage the adjacent tooth roots and maintain money support the the surrounding teeth. Care also had to be used so as not to perforate the nasal floor or the maxillary sinus. After removal the areas were grafted with cadaveric bone with platelet rich fibrin.
