Dr. William Muñoz received his B.A. from The George Washington University, in 2006. He graduated with his medical degree in 2011 from Ponce School of Medicine in Ponce, Puerto Rico. He completed his surgical internship and his orthopedic surgery residency at Rutgers – New Jersey Medical School. Dr. Muñoz then went on to complete his fellowship in spine surgery at the University of Virginia Medical Center.
Dr. Muñoz has co-authored numerous manuscripts in peer-reviewed medical journals, including Annals of Surgery and The Spine Journal. One of his papers was selected as The Spine Journal 2012 Outstanding Paper in Basic Science. He has also written multiple medical textbook chapters in AOSpine Master Series and Recent Advances in Spine Surgery.
Dr. Muñoz specializes in spine surgery and gained experience in a variety of spinal disorders while training at the University of Virginia Medical Center. He provides both non-operative and operative treatment for complex spine deformities and malalignment, spinal trauma and degenerative disorders, as well as non-operative techniques like spinal injections.
