Halitosis: Behind the Mask (Zak Dental)
The recent protests brings into lite the fact that Our Country continues to be haunted by its history of slavery, segregation and discrimination. While there are laws that protect our communities from explicit discriminations, Racism continues to show up in our lives across institutions and society. Wealth Gap, Employment, Housing Discrimination, Government Surveillance, Incarceration, Drug Arrests, Immigration Arrests, Infant Mortality… yes, systemic racism is real.
Zak Dental was founded by immigrants from an oppressive regime who escaped to the United States of America in pursuit of the American Dream. Zak Dental is the manifestation of this dream. Our Family and Leadership Team is committed to provide a Fair and Just Workplace where all Zak Team Members have Equal Opportunity to fulfill their Dreams.
Zak Dental is committed to practice mindfulness in our communications and actions... to ensure that our dental healthcare workplace is not plagued by unconscious biases. We encourage all of our team members to bring forth ideas how WE can further contribute to the eradication of discrimination based on race, ethnicity, religion, national origin, gender identity or sexual orientation. We will continue to celebrate and appreciate the rich Diversity of our Team Members and the Patient Communities that we serve.
Has wearing a mask during the coronavirus pandemic made you suddenly realize you have bad breath?
Tip: If you can smell it there, then your breath is flat-out noxious, as most of us can't tell on our own, dentists say.
That means you -- and all those sheltering closely around you -- are victims of halitosis.
You're not alone. Up to 80 million people have chronic bad breath, according to the Academy of General Dentistry.

For over 25 years Dr. Zak Dental Care has lived by our core value of quality assurance, safety, accountability and benevolence. These enduring values guide us as we face the difficult challenge of responding to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) Pandemic. With this situation in mind, it is our duty to assist our fellow healthcare workers in hospitals and urgent care centers by providing access to emergency dental care. That being said, we must also do our part to limit the spread of COVID-19 by incorporating the need for social distancing in our dental care delivery process.
We are OPEN and here to help with your urgent dental needs.
If you are experiencing pain, swelling, severe discomfort, or bleeding, please book your appointment online or give us a call!
We would like to give a huge WELCOME to the newest member of our team! Say "hello" to Itzel (dental assistant)! She looks forward to helping you smile during your next check up 😃
