The Dennis-Yarmouth Regional School District family is heartbroken at the loss of our dear friend and colleague, Ken Jenks. He unexpectedly passed away at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston after recently undergoing heart surgery. The DY family has lost an amazing man, educator, leader, and friend.
Ken Jenks, our Assistant Superintendent, former Principal, and educator at DY High School was known to all for his tireless dedication to our students, staff, and communities. As he walked the halls of DY High School with his camera in hand, many a student would stop to pose for a picture or share what they were doing. It was the highlight of his day!
Throughout the entire period of quarantine when the rest of the state was shut down and most of us were tucked away at home, Ken came to work in the office every day because of his commitment to ensuring that the students, families, and staff of DY had what they needed to be safe and successful. He was always ready to lend a hand, saying frequently, “How can I help?”
His wisdom, good humor, and care for others will be a part of the DY legacy for years to come and is irreplaceable. Please join me in holding his loving family and dear friends in our thoughts and prayers as we come together to grieve this tragic loss. Together, for Ken, we are DY Strong!
