Springfield PD would like to remind everyone once again to lock your car doors and to secure your trailers, gulfcarts, tools etc. No longer can you ignore the security of items even at residences well off the roadway.
Catalytic converters are being cut off of vehicles in record numbers at homes and businesses throughout the state including this area and many areas of Aiken, Orangeburg and Barnwell counties, just to name a few.
Those with Ford F-350s should pay special attention, but anyone can fall victim as this type of crime is become a huge issue.
Area municipalities have been dealing with these thefts and again last night not far from here was no exception. Thieves are ruffling through cars, stealing catalytic converters and most anything else of value. This is just another reason to not leave guns in your cars!
Report all suspicious vehicles and persons immediately by calling 911.
