E-Z ABGs provides a way for Nursing and Medical Students to learn the normal ranges of the components of an Arterial Blood Gas test by using Reference Charts and a Deck of Cards and the accompanying Instructions demonstrate how the components of the ABG can be viewed in a way that makes Arterial Blood Gas interpretation easier to understand. Professors have used E-Z ABGs in the classroom when teaching Arterial Blood Gas values to Medical and Nursing students. In addition to classrooms, E-Z ABGs have been purchased by Nursing and Medical students for individual practice and have also been found to be of great value when schools have made E-Z ABGs decks accessible to students for loan from their school library. Students studying Arterial Blood Gas values with E-Z ABG cards can obtain a correct diagnosis for whatever Arterial Blood Gas values may be presented by each individual patient. With a better comprehension of ABG interpretation, the cause of the symptoms due to alkalosis, acidosis, compensated, or uncompensated Arterial Blood Gas values becomes more apparent to the student studying ABG interpretation. Students will find when learning Arterial Blood Gas values with E-Z ABGs cards, the understanding of how a diagnosis of acidosis, alkalosis or normal is achieved, why various symptoms occur become more evident, and how the care for the compensated or uncompensated patient is influenced due to the results.
