Earl McAllister, MD, FACS, is an exceptional general surgeon who specializes in abdominal procedures. His patients at Florida Medical Center in Tampa, Florida, receive his personal attention, as he takes time to listen to their concerns, answer their questions, explain their health condition, and describe their surgical options. Dr. McAllister takes great pride in helping each patient choose the treatment that’s best for their health and then providing the highest level of surgical care.
Dr. McAllister’s expertise and skill shine in the operating room, but his compassion doesn’t begin or end there; he supports each patient before surgery and throughout their recovery. For more than two decades, he has treated patients with numerous abdominal conditions, from acid reflux, hernias, and appendicitis, to inflammatory bowel disease, gallbladder disease, and colon cancer.
As an expert in minimally invasive and robotic surgery, Dr. McAllister gives his patients the benefits of advanced technology and surgical techniques that deliver optimal outcomes. Using the da Vinci® Surgical System, he performs surgeries that are more precise and cause less trauma, which in turn accelerates each patient’s healing and lowers their risk of complications.
Dr. McAllister received his medical degree from Louisiana State University Medical Center in Baton Rouge, then completed his internship and residency at Charity Hospital in New Orleans. Before going into private practice, he was an Instructor in Surgery and an Assistant Professor in the Department of Surgery at the University of South Florida.
Dr. McAllister is certified by the American Board of Surgery and Critical Care Medicine. He also maintains active membership in the American College of Surgeons and the Tampa Bay Surgical Society.
When he’s not in the office meeting patients or performing surgery, Dr. McAllister is involved with martial arts and enjoys the outdoors.
