As Rosh Hashanah ushers in the High Holy Days and begins a season of reflection and renewal in Judaism today, we join the nation in mourning the death of Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg.
May we take the time to reflect upon the legacy of this fierce defender of women‘s rights and valiant warrior for justice on behalf of all for whom justice is often denied. May her memory continue to be a blessing for her family and all who love her. Hamakom y’nachem etchem b’toch sh’ar availai tziyon v’yerushalayim.

Thrifty Treasures will be closed for Labor Day. BUT we will be open on Tuesday, September 8 from 10am-4pm. Be sure to stop and shop since summer clearance will start. Shorts, capris, and tank tops will be 50 cents all week! We still have many name brand items.

We are back to our original schedule which is on the sign on the building- Monday and Tuesday 10-4 and Saturday 10-1. Special Outdoor Service This Sunday!!!
We're celebrating the beautiful weather! There will be an outdoor service on Sunday, November 8, 2020, in addition to the broadcast service on YouTube. If you can join us in person in front of the church at 10:30 am, we'd love to see you! Masks and social distancing will be required. Please bring your own chairs. If you can't make it to the outdoor service, you can access the broadcast service on our website and directly from our East Church UCC YouTube channel.
We are excited to announce that East Church is part of the current cohort of local houses of worship and has been awarded a $1,500 mini-grant to implement a Sacred Grounds project at our church. “Sacred Grounds™ is a National Wildlife Federation Garden for Wildlife™ program that recognizes congregations, houses of worship, and faith communities... who both create wildlife habitat and actively link faith practices and caring for the environment.” Through the grant we will be able to design and purchase native plants and other materials to enhance an aspect of our church property as well as outreach and educate community members about environmental protection.
We invite any church members who would like join the “Green Team” to contact Stephanie Gingerich at srgingerich@yahoo.com to be added to the contact list for future meetings. You do not need to have expertise in gardening but we hope you will have an interest in linking faith and stewardship through native plants and protecting the watershed. All are welcome to participate. More information on the program can be found at
