Art Nouveau Revival Exhibit
09/18/2020 - 10/02/2020
Svetlana Kukueva's and especially Irina Nogina's style is reminiscent of the late Art Nouveau movement. Alphonse Mucha, the father of this style of painting used flowing lines, mysterious ornaments, and a natural color palette. This style captivated all of Europe at the end of 19th and beginning of 20th centuries. The main motivation behind this style, is to live in harmony with nature.

SALE! Hand-made porcelain flowers
Aug 13 – 31
Irina Lilja has over 25 years of experience in art, design, and architecture. In 2009 Lilja founded LIRI Flowers, to focus solely on producing fine, hand-made porcelain flowers.
The history and artistry of flowers made from porcelain has European antecedents dating back to the mid 1700’s. In creating these hand-made pieces of sculpture, Lilja has remained true to reproducing the shapes and forms of flowers as they exist in life.
All work, from start to finish is made by hand. The complexity and time-consuming labor can be gleamed from the intricacies of the design, beginning with the delicate formation of each wafer-thin petal and leaf. Once constructed, the porcelain is left to dry, before being fired in a kiln at 2,380 degrees Fahrenheit. If necessary, they are glazed, and then fired again. Afterwards, they are hand painted.
Lilja’s goal has been to recreate sculptured pieces of floral art that accurately portray the radiance of these creations as they are viewed in the natural world.

Day of Knowledge Party
East West Fine Art celebrates Back to School Day the Russian Way! We want to share our photos with those who are young at heart and nostalgic for glorious school years.
September First is traditionally a very important day in Russia. On this day we honor our school, our teachers, and our classmates. We pay tribute to knowledge and education. We bring flowers, sing songs about school and say words of gratitude and appreciation to our teachers.
We set up activities like poetry recitals, song solos, math competitions, dance performances - all activities three generations of Russians/Soviets cherished. We recreated our school uniforms, with white festive aprons, white knee socks, and white bows, worn only for Holidays and special events. (Black aprons are for everyday wear, and the red handkerchiefs are worn by Pioneers - Soviet version of Boy Scouts). It was tremendously fun to relive those glorious school years!

Just Arrived from Venice!
Inventive and mysterious, our beloved sculpture artist Annalu is adding touches of the old-world to her new-age sculptures. Annalu is known world-wide for her invention of a new medium, which she calls resin glass.
Since East West Fine Art first introduced Annalu to the States and to Naples in 2015, she has gained a significant American collector base. Murano glass artisans achieved stardom as early as the 13th century for the finest quality glass objects of art in Europe. Today the tradition continues, and Murano island is home to numerous glass factories and artist studios.
In her newest collection of Dream Catchers Annalu pays homage to the ancient tradition of glass making in her country. She is combining her innovative resin glass with one-of-a-kind Murano glass disks. Annalu sought out a very special glass foundry on the island. Only these artisans are able to create such disks with their own centuries-old technique.
FEEDBACK NEEDED!
We are thinking of introducing several art-doll artists to our gallery. We are in absolute awe. What do you think? Would you acquire one?

Irene Sheri's art career started when her older brother was given as a birthday present a set of paints. Irene was told NOT TO TOUCH THEM! Those paints became an object of desire for her, almost an obsession. She stole them, mixed them, painted on paper, walls, on her dress and on the bodies of her friends. She was 4 years old.
