Dr. Lisa Rosenberger, ND, LAc, is deeply committed to the philosophy, principles, and practices of integrative and alternative health care. As a naturopathic physician and licensed acupuncturist, she believes that bodies are made to heal on their own by removing the interferences and helping the body to function at its optimal.
At her private practice, East West Integrative Health Clinic, in Branford, Connecticut, she treats many different health concerns that men, women, and children encounter, including hormone imbalances, fibromyalgia, obesity, migraines, autoimmune diseases, and arthritis. She specializes in services that bring together the best of conventional and complementary medicine, such as acupuncture, Chinese medicine, naturopathy, medication evaluation, and nutrition and supplement counseling.
In 2008, she graduated with honors from the National College of Natural Medicine in Portland, Oregon, and completed two residencies in integrative and general medicine. Following the residencies, Dr. Rosenberger was an NIH-funded research fellow at the Yale-Griffin Prevention Research Center in Derby, Connecticut.

🔥 DIET SODA ALERT!!! 🔥 If you drink diet soda because you think it’s better for your heart than regular soda, a SURPRISING new study found out some pretty interesting info... 💡What matters: your overall lifestyle choices. 🥤Researchers in France found that people who regularly drink beverages with artificial sweeteners had a bigger risk of heart disease and stroke than people who avoided diet beverages altogether. 😲In fact, their risk was about the same as people who drank the “regular” sugar-packed version of the beverage! 👉🏾Researchers said this doesn’t mean diet soda causes cardiovascular disease. They said it might be linked to other lifestyle choices made by the people who regularly choose diet drinks. For example: drinking a diet soda, and then eating chips or a sugary dessert. This study was taken from data of 81,000 women aged 50 to 79 who took part in the Women’s Health Initiative Study. 💡Women who sat or laid down for less than 4½ hours a day were used as a baseline, and risk of being hospitalized for heart failure was calculated from there. ● Risk of heart failure hospitalization was 14% higher in those who sat/laid down between 4½ and 8½ hours a day ● The risk was 54% higher in those who sat/laid down for more than 8½ hours a day. 🛋 One shocker from the study: the risk stayed the same even among the women who were the most active and got suggested amounts of exercise (when they weren’t sitting or lying down). 🚶🏾‍♀‍The takeaway: Make an effort to get up and MOVE. 💥 Are you guilty of this?! I soooo am… 🙋🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️ When we think of injuries, we usually picture something that “happened” like a sprained ankle or pulled muscle. But many injuries are actually caused by years of bad posture. And one BIG cause of that is carrying a purse, briefcase, or a bag on one shoulder! When you carry weight on one side all the time, you can end up compensating by rounding your spine to the opposite side in order to compensate. (Seriously, start watching people carrying bags and you’ll see what I’m talking about!) This does NOT mean you can’t carry a bag with you. BUT … if you are going to carry weight on just one side (we all have our favorite sides), there are some protective measures you can take. Do this: ✅Be mindful of your posture. ✅Stand tall and draw your shoulders down and back away from your ears to take the load off your rounded shoulders. ✅Engage your abs and upper back muscles. ✅Switch sides often. ✅Strengthen your core to help you keep an upright posture. ⁉️👇Did I miss anything on my list? Especially your deep neck flexors, which sit behind your windpipe - because they play a huge role in neck stability. Slouching while on your phone or computer means your head is often forward and angled downward. Over time, this position weakens those muscles and can lead to muscle imbalances. Here’s an exercise that’ll feel amazing after a long screen-time session. You might even feel it in your upper back and shoulders. ✅Lie on your back ✅Without lifting your head, look down towards your toes drawing your chin in towards your chest (think double chin) ✅Hold for 10 seconds and repeat 10 times! While you’re asleep your body is busy recovering and recharging from yesterday and setting you up for success today. Studies show that over the past decade, many of us have been going to bed later but still getting up at the same time – losing about 40 minutes of sleep on workdays! Not getting enough sleep can raise your stress hormones and also throw your hunger hormones out of whack! Both of these are implicated in weight gain over time.
