Chocolate City Rocks @ Eaton DC: Join An Organization
Before Ichiro left to his current home in San Jose, CA at the Children's Discovery Museum, this 30ft dinosaur dating back 72 million years was housed on the 11th floor of Eaton DC at wilddaysdc
Our Director of Culture, Sebi Medina-Tayac had the opportunity to interview its creator Marianela Fuentes. Their conversation explores Ichiro’s origin story, Huichol culture, and the impact of this shakira covered skeleton.

Emmelia Talarico founded her organization, No Justice No Pride (NJNP), with the hope of providing housing to the most marginalized members of the community, trans women of color, who face the greatest discrimination when looking for housing in DC. Currently, NJNP houses 38 trans people across five houses in DC, and Emmelia says they're the largest trans adult housing provider in the city.
“No Justice No Pride” co-directed by Sean Mattison and our Director of Impact, Katie Pettit, follows the organization through its adolescence in 2019. At the time, NJNP operated out of just one house, with nine permanent residents and as many as 22 people crashing there in one night. The film follows the triumphs and struggles of this chosen family through a slice of Emmelia's life. To see the flim and meet Emmelia, register for Another World is Possible through the link in our bio.

“Dreamrave"—a multimedia and electronic music weeklong installation during Art Basel Hong Kong 2019 co-curated by Eaton Workshop and Offline Projects (@offlineprojects)— interrogates the intersection of the digital and physical via collective dreaming. The four-act installation transformed Eaton HK into an ambient dream space mimicking the stages of sleep, with visuals generated by online and in-person participants. This art film captures the visceral experience of visiting the exhibition.
Adrian Yu @uynairda, the director of “Dreamrave,” is an interdisciplinary artist, director and creative director.
As an artist, his work explores themes of identity, technology and semiotics within new media. His work often examines Asian American identity with site-specific installations that challenge audiences with provocative environments.
