If your young child has never danced before, you may wonder whether he or she is too young to benefit from our classes. Let’s talk about your child's age and maturity level, so that we can help you evaluate whether now is the best time for him or her to start at a dance studio.
The cha cha features a lot of hip movement. This is achieved by bending and straightening your knees. This will allow your hip movement to happen naturally.
It’s important to remember that your child may not always pick up on what we’re trying to teach them to do right away during a class. While it can be difficult to watch your child work through their frustration, there’s always a payoff once they overcome their challenges.

Details for our performance THIS Saturday, October 24th are as follows:
•In lieu of the cost of admission, we would greatly appreciate CASH donations to the breast cancer foundation.
•The official sponsor of the Eden School of Dance Scholarship fund-Four Brats Cheesecakes-will be there selling cheesecake and doing raffles. Roma’s pizza in Berlin will be at the show selling $5 hoagies and other goodies.

Special dancing shoes aren't required for Latin dancing classes, but they can really help with your comfort and technique. Regardless, it's a good idea to stay away from rubber-soled shoes, because they tend to stick to the floor and will make it difficult to perform some of the dance moves.
The tango is a ballroom dance that’s typically performed at 128 to 132 beats per minute. Its basic rhythm is quick-quick-slow.
When your child is young, it’s often a good idea to enroll him or her in a variety of different activities to see which he or she prefers the most. Even if your child has never set foot on a dance floor before, we’re always ready to take them under our wing.
Ballet is often considered a rather elite form of activity, but today it's becoming more and more open to people of all backgrounds. In fact, there are many people from all walks of life who are becoming professional dancers every day!
Budding ballerinas may also see a boost in their language skills. Classical ballet was developed in the court of Louis XIV, and many of the terms used in ballet, like "plie" and "arabesque," have their roots in French.
When you first enroll your child in dance classes, it’s a good idea to ask him or her to stick with it for several classes before allowing him or her to quit. Since some days will be more difficult for your child than others are, letting him or her drop out after his or her first bad day can be premature.
While ballet got its start in the Italian courts in the late 1400s and early 1500s, it didn’t really come into its own until 1581. That’s when the first ballet was performed for the court of Henry III in France, titled “The Comic Ballet of the Queen.”
When it comes to the foxtrot, the hold is of utmost importance. It’s important that you make sure that you are using good posture and that your hands are placed correctly. In addition, always keep your chin up, and do not look down.
Children will enjoy the popular Greek dance, the Geronos. It’s a dance in which no adults are allowed. In another popular Greek dance, the Epilinios, dancers crush grapes with their feet.
