Edward Bustamante, DPM, FACFAS, specializes in foot and ankle care and brings extensive experience and training to his practice alongside the latest innovations. Dr. Bustamante works tirelessly to help his Miami area patients navigate their lives without pain or limitations, which is why he’s one of the top referral doctors in the area.
Dr. Bustamante began his medical career at Barry University School of Podiatric Medicine in Miami where he earned his medical degree in 1997. From there, he went on to complete his podiatric surgical residency at Palmetto General Hospital in Hialeah, Florida, where he was chief resident in 2000. During this time, Dr. Bustamante also completed a Reconstructive Foot and Ankle Fellowship at the world-renowned Hadassah University Medical Center in Jerusalem, Israel, in 1999.
In 2004, Dr. Bustamante was certified by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery, and he is a Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons.
Dr. Bustamante holds hospital privileges at South Miami Hospital, Baptist Hospital, Doctor's Hospital, Westchester General Hospital, and Mt. Sinai Medical Center. He also performs surgery at South Florida Surgery Center and Medical Art Surgery Center at South Miami Hospital.
When he’s not treating patients, Dr. Bustamante is active in training a new generation of podiatric surgeons at South Miami Hospital, Mt. Sinai Medical Center, and Westchester General Hospital, where he was also appointed to Director of Surgical Education for the podiatric residency program.
Outside of his work, Dr. Bustamante has received recognition for his participation in humanitarian work through the Yucatan Crippled Children's Project in Merida, Mexico.
