Dr. Edward L. Merker, Assistant Clinical Professor of Medicine at Columbia University Medical Center, is Board Certified in Family Medicine and has been practicing since 1985. Dr. Merker attended Albert Einstein College of Medicine, and completed his Internship and Residency in Family Medicine at Overlook Hospital in Summit, New Jersey, a prior Columbia University affiliated institution.
During his last year of residency, Dr. Merker served as Chief Resident of the Family Medicine Program at Overlook and previously practiced as a physician at Yale Health Plan. Dr. Merker is a Certified Medical Director in Long Term Care and attends to patients in numerous nursing homes and assisted living facilities as well as providing care to patients in his private office.
Dr. Merker is honored to be named as Top Doctor-Family Medicine New York Metro Area 2016, Top Doctor-Family Medicine by New York Magazine 2016, and 2016 Westchester's Best Doctors by Westchester Magazine. He also holds memberships in American Academy of Family Medicine, American Medical Directors Association, and American Professional Wound Care Association.
