Over the years we have been lucky enough to host athletes, celebrities, politicians and even two Presidents. However many great Americans move quietly among us.
Mr Cunningham served our country as a Marine helicopter and fixed wing pilot. He was the Marine One Pilot for President Johnson and Marine Two Pilot for Vice-President Hubert Humphrey.
He also applied for the NASA astronaut program. Although not selected he went on to train our Apollo astronauts, including America’s first moonwalkers Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin, in survival swimming.
