A Freeze Warning and Frost Advisory are in effect for early Friday morning across the forecast area, as most areas should dip down into the low 30s to upper 20s. Protect vulnerable plants and vegetation or bring them inside. In addition, some patchy fog and freezing fog will be possible for parts of the area in the morning. Take it slow when encountering fog while driving and give yourself plenty of time to reach your destination.

[8:15 am - 11/30/2020] We began the last day of Climatological Fall with the coldest air we've seen so far this season. All of eastern Oklahoma and northwest Arkansas fell below freezing, with observed lows ranging from 21 in northeast Oklahoma to 31 in the Arkansas River Valley.

Snow Update: Accumulating snowfall looks better for Sunday Morning and into the early afternoon. Temperatures in the clouds will be cold enough to produce snow, however, ground temperatures will be just at or above freezing. This means, the snow will come down but will struggle to stick to the roads. Expect snow to mainly stick to the grass and car hoods, etc. Will need to watch the temperatures closely, if we can get temperatures to fall into the upper 20s, then we could be seeing a more significant snow threat. However, right now, this looks to be a snow event that has minimal travel impacts.

[4:02 am - 2/16/21] LATEST forecast snowfall accumulations and timing snow onset later today. A Winter Storm Warning for all of eastern Oklahoma and northwest Arkansas is now in effect from 4 pm today to 6 am Thursday. Expect additional travel impacts, with conditions deteriorating this evening.

Severe thunderstorms likely tonight, and snow in the Panhandle by morning. Could even hear a little thunder with the snow, and the biggest threat with the severe storms is the possibility of very large hail as temperatures aloft will be quite cold, which aids in the size of hail. ALL modes of severe weather are possible in the yellow shaded weather, and the fact that this will be a nighttime event has led me to increase my risk factor a little bit.
