Elk Grove Unified operates 42 elementary schools, nine middle schools, nine comprehensive high schools, four alternative education schools, one charter school, one virtual online K-8 program, one special education school and one adult education school. In addition, the district offers preschool programs at 15 school sites, an adult education program and a career training center for adults.
